So hello. I am brand new to the world of online journal keeping. I discovered it quite by accident actually.
I was touring around the web around the time of the release of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" (Yes I am a 30 year old male who reads Harry Potter! Back off me, I love the story) Anyway, I ended up reading the interview with JK Rowling through Mugglenet and THe Leaky Cauldron (both of which were new to me, I don't surf that much)
Long story short, I started following links to look at pictures from one of the interviewers Melissa Anelli, and I found myself looking at everything and reading everything, thinking "this is really cool" So I decided to try it myself.
I know this is just terribly interesting so far, but like I said, I am new to this. I thought this might be a new way to reach out to a larger community of people and exchange some ideas about stuff. If it doesn't work well, I'll quit. So if anyone happens to come across this in their net surfing, and would like to talk or comment, please please please contact me. I don't have any pictures yet, but I'm working on that. Here is a list of some of my current obsessions, so if you share any of the same, let me know.

BOOKS/POETRY
I am currently Re-reading "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" Harry Potter is good for lively discussion
Walt Whitman is my all-time favorite
Alexander Pope is a close second
John Updike is a bore
Steinbeck is a genius
... and if there is anyone alive out there who has read James Joyce's "Ulysses" and actually understood it, particularly the last 50 pages where there is no punctuation, I would love it if you could explain it to me.
Obviously this is an overview, and areas of interest or discussion aren't limited to the above, so please feel free to throw other stuff out there
Ok, think that's it for now. I'll cast this line and see if I get any nibbles.
